Is your pool actually leaking?

A small leak ignored for months becomes a structural problem. Look out for these five signs:

Water loss over 1/4" per day — anything more than evaporation is a leak.
Wet spots in the yard — soft, soggy ground near the pool equipment.
Cracks in the deck or coping — settling can indicate water undermining the shell.
Air in the pump basket — a suction-side leak pulls air into the system.
Rising chemical use — fresh water dilutes your chemistry constantly.
